european_tenpin_bowling_federation.jpgebt_2009_logo.jpgThe composition of the European Bowling Tour 2009 (EBT 2009) has been decided by the Presidium of the European Tenpin Bowling Federation.

Like in 2007 and 2008, the EBT 2009 consists of 18 tournaments, of which 3 have been granted the EBT Challenger status and 15 have been granted the EBT Major status. The 18 tournaments will be conducted in 13 different countries. It is expected that 1-2 tournaments will be upgrade to EBT Premier Status in 2009 after their conduction in 2008.

The composition of the EBT 2009 is presented at page 2 of this press release. Detailed information of each stop is available at www.etbf.dk.

From the EBT 2008, the organizer of the International Luxembourg Open has decided not to re-apply for his tournament to be adopted in the EBT 2009, while the 2nd tour tournament in Slovenia, the 3rd Qubica/AMF Open 2009, is the newcomer of the tour in 2009.

For the second time we are welcoming a tournament from outside Europe and again it is the Qatar International Open, which continued offer the record breaking prize fund of 120.000 €.

The total prize fund (including tour prize money) for the 18 tournaments in the EBT 2009 will be a little more than 1.2 million €, with an average prize fund of not less than 65.000 € per stop.

The EBT 2009, which is the jubilee and 10th consecutive European Bowling Tour since the first tour was launched in 2000, is - as always - open for all bowlers in the World and all bowlers can be awarded points, no matter their nationality.

On top of the European Bowling Tour is the newly established EBT Masters, which is the final of the tour for the 16 highest ranked women and the 16 highest ranked men by the conclusion of a tour.

The first EBT Masters 2008 (the final of the EBT 2007) will be conducted in Ankara, Turkey on 22-24 September 2008, the second EBT Masters 2009 (the final of the EBT 2008) will be conducted in Aalborg, Denmark on 25-27 May 2008, while hosts for the EBT Masters 2010 and 2011 (the finals of the EBT 2009 and the EBT 2010 respectively) still are to be selected. Both the EBT Masters 2010 and the EBT Masters 2011 are open for bids from potential organizers.
