As results secretary, I am part of the committee that runs the North West Fives along with John Ralphs, Wayne Taylor and Chris Lansdowne. If you feel more comfortable talking to John Ralphs, you can email or phone him.

The main reason we have returned to Carlisle is the good reports we had from Premier division captains after our last visit in May. As far as I can remember this was shortly after a visit by Rob Thurlby, AMF's regional tech. Over time some centres get better, some get worse. We have to look into what has happened.

I have emailed the following to Carlisle

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,
I am once again voicing my concerns regarding the treatment we received on our visit yesterday to your Centre.
Having during the week sent a reminder, we do expect that the bowl will be ready for our visit. When people have travelled long distances the last thing they want are delays even before they start, such as having to clean approaches, then being told by the Duty Manager we were busy last night that's why. I thought the idea was to be busy at all times and to be ready for that eventuality.
Being able to get a welcoming drink and something to eat are a must for most people and also good food and drink throughout the day, none of these seemed to be available to your members.i.e. people could not get drinks because there were no cups available among other things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On our last visit you got it more or less right after previous disappointments. We visit your sister Centres at Keighley, Wigan and Macclesfield without these problems time after time.
I have been informed that at no time did the General Public have to wait for lanes during the day so I would assume that our cheque was a welcoming presence in your till.
This booking along with all the others we have for the rest of our season was taken in good faith and we would appreciate a response from you, which we will look closely at before deciding if we need to review our future bookings with yourselves.

Yours
John Ralphs
General Secretary
