It is a sad day for tournament and league play, as it has been announced that AMF Bowling Purley is set to close on 28th February 2010.

The announcement was first leaked on Saturday via Emma Manning's (AMF Bowling Purley Centre Manager) facebook status in which she simply said "Emma Manning is sad to announce that Purley Bowl is closing on 28th Feb :("
The announcement was quickly followed on facebook by many supportive comments, and has already received 50 comments.

Closing Party
AMF Purley is closing on Sunday 28th February 2010. We want to invite
everyone to be able to come and have a last drink with us, however with
the Seniors being in for the weekend this means Friday night is the
obvious choice!
Everyone is welcome to attend, bowlers, friends, family, customers new and old! The more the merrier!
Come
along and join us in saying goodbye to our centre, you can just have a
drink, or you can bowl as well! but don't forget if you want to bowl,
you are going to have to book lanes!
