SOUTH African Guy Caminsky will be back to defend his title at the 2009 PartyPoker.com World Tenpin Masters in April.
Caminksy won the competition for the first time in 2008 as he came from
behind to defeat American Chris Barnes 526-517 in a memorable final.
This year's competition will be again staged at the Metrodome in
Barnsley, England but this year it will be tougher than ever before to
win.
Only eight players will be competing, firstly in two groups of four
with only the top two players advancing to the semi-finals stage before
the two winners meet in the final.
The line-up includes four previous champions - Caminsky, Jason Belmonte
(Australia, 2007 winner), Chris Barnes (USA, 2006 winner) and Paeng
Nepomuceno (Philippines, 1999 winner).
Matchroom Sport's Media Director Luke Riches said: "In previous years
players have travelled from all over the world and sometimes they would
only play one single two-game match but now they have a chance to play
at least three.
"With only eight players in the 2009 PartyPoker.com World Tenpin Masters, the standard will obviously be incredibly high.
"That should lead to some fantastic bowling and competitive matches
which will be great for the packed crowd and great for television."
