Barrett and van der Tol claim Irish Open titles |
England's Dom Barrett has won the stepladder finals of the 20th Irish Open Championships held at the LeisurePlex Stillorgan bowling centre in Dublin. Dom Barrett defeated defending champion Nick Froggatt (England) 219-217 in the title match after earlier defeating Paul Carter (England) 219-204. Fourth was Kim Brøndsted (Denmark) who had lost to Carter 236-176 in the first stepladder match.
Top seed Ghisliane van der Tol of the Netherlands defeated Sweden's Christel Carlsson 197-164 in the title match. Carlsson had earlier defeated England's Kirsten Penny 205-196 and Ireland's Amanda McDermott 225-158. The full results are available from the Irish association website.
