England win team bronze, Penny bowls 300 at Women's World Championships |
England's team of Fiona Banks, Kirsten Penny, Zara Glover, Jemma Smith
and Lisa John have scooped the bronze medal in the team event at the
Women's World Championship in Mexico. Over the two 3 game blocks, first
on the short oil pattern and then on the long oil pattern, Fiona bowled
1320, Kirsten bowled 1323, Zara bowled 1247, Jemma bowled 1110 and Lisa
bowled 1197. Their second team game of 1261 which included a 300 game
by Kirsten, set a new championship team record. England's Katie Jowsey
did not play the team event.
Also representing the UK at the championships are Team Wales
(Anne-Maree Williams, Karen Jaap, Louise Roberts, Linsey Duncan, Sharon
Green, Suan Thomas) and Team Scotland (Gemma Macleod, Gloria Carney,
Katherine Wallace, Lorraine Russell, Penny Pullin, Zara Yusaf). Full
