Nick Froggatt has defeated Tony Fransson 227-207 in the final of the 1st Maribor Open Strike Tournament in Slovenia which was broadcast live on Slovenian television. The English left hander who won 8000 Euros, qualified top of the stepladder after bowling 2210 over the previous 9 games. Sweden's Tony Fransson who won 6000 Euros for second place had earlier defeated fellow swedes Eric Andersin 228-223 and Martin Larsen 217-205. Fellow England bowlers Paul Moor and Stuart Williams finished in sixth and thirteenth respectively while Rob Kendall finished in 25th place. Next year's event will be held from 6th to 14th September 2008 and will be art of the 2008 European Bowling Tour. Full results are available on the tournament website
