The United States has been selected by the World Tenpin Bowling Association as the host for the 2009 Women's World Championships. It will be held on 56 specially constructed lanes at the Cashman Centre, Las Vegas with a tentative  schedule of starting on 26th July and concluding on 2nd August. The WTBA Congress will be held on 3rd August with the FIQ Congress on the 4th August.

The WTBA Presidium met in Kuwait during April to decide the new host after the original hosts, Australia, withdrew their bid
citing a shortfall in sponsorship to cover the running costs of the event.
